The BareBurger chain was born in Queens, NYC in 2009. They are now located in Jiyugaoka & Ginza. Their customizable burgers, sandwiches & salads boast of organic, antibiotic & GMO free ingredients. Before seeing the movie Rogue-1, where the Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, we decided to brace ourselves for the action at BareBurger located on the 10th floor, in the newly opened Tokyu Plaza Building, right across the Sony Bldg. in Ginza.
If you are conscious about industrial farming & take your eating / cooking seriously, then head to Bareburger because they offer protein in more sustainable alternatives like free-range , grass-fed, pasture raised, antibiotic & hormone free meats. Can’t wait for the day when they will start serving Ostrich, Wild Boar, Bison and Elk here in Japan !
The interior decor is simple & unassuming & has a rustic feel to it. Almost everything is made with reclaimed and sustainable materials. It is ideal for families, friends & casual dates. Service is casual, friendly & the servers speak a little English.
Their Tea, Coffee, House-made Natural Sodas & Milk Shakes are a treat. The old fashioned milkshakes are made from organic milk and ice cream, in flavors that include vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, strawberry and raspberry. The Rose & Yuzu flavored natural sodas are refreshing. Craft beer, organic wine and cocktails are served as well. I enjoy their Moscow mule because it is garnished with candied ginger, that further enhances the drinking experience.
We ordered the County Fair, Buttermilk Buffalo & El Matador burgers. One bite and you can really taste the difference in the patties. The taste of char which gives way to tender & juicy meat within, tasted completely of itself. The buns were sturdy but light, subtly sweet with a nice golden crust. The fries were definitely addictive & have a nice crunch. For a light meal, get some BareBurger Sliders to go along with your shake, served two to an order.
Price could be an issue with some but who cares because it is a great place to get your fix of burgers. Make mine a Bare-Burger !
