Kyu-Shiba-rikyu (43,000 sq.meters) is not as large as Hama-rikyu Gardens, but it has a charm of its own. Almost all parks and gardens were residences of feudal lords, shoguns & government officials. This garden was made from reclaimed land & as most gardens, this one is landscaped to resemble the intricate layout of mountains, lakes & oceans which reflect an idealized fusion between humans & nature. This garden gets its inspiration from The West Lake in Hangzhou, China. There are a lot of impressive rock formations around this park. The trails around the garden help you enjoy the view from various angles. Do not let the frequent bullet trains whizzing past, distract you from the exquisite atmosphere of Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens.

It is just 1 minute on foot from Hamamatsucho station’s North exit, on the JR Yamanote line. Entrance fee is ¥150
